Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that no red tape will be tolerated in the way of foreign investment.
A meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is currently being held at the Prime Minister’s House, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah, and Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti are also present. Additionally, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari, and chief secretaries from all four provinces are attending.
The chief ministers from all four provinces expressed their satisfaction with the steps taken to promote investment under SIFC.
In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the military leadership for playing a key role in promoting foreign investment in the country. He mentioned that provincial governments are being included in SIFC initiatives, highlighting the success of his recent visit to the UAE, where UAE leaders committed $10 billion for investment in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the era of reliance on aid is over, and the focus is now on trade and economic cooperation. He noted that friendly countries have appreciated the actions taken by SIFC, reaffirming that no bureaucratic hurdles will be tolerated in facilitating foreign investment.
Sources indicate that participants expressed satisfaction with the implementation of decisions made in previous Apex Committee meetings.
