Reports indicate that the International Astronomical Center has stated that Islamic countries will observe the moon of Dhul-Hijjah on Friday, June 7.
If the moon is sighted on this date, the first of Dhul-Hijjah will be on June 8. If not, it will be on Sunday, June 9. Consequently, the first day of Eid al-Adha, which is on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, will be either Monday, June 17, or Tuesday, June 18.
Final Announcement in Pakistan
However, in Pakistan, the final date for Eid al-Adha will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the moon of Dhul-Hijjah is sighted.
